The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has named Jack Wiener as managing director and deputy general counsel.
In this role, Wiener will oversee the legal aspects of one of DTCC subsidiary's - The Depository Trust Company (DTC) - international and e-commerce initiatives.
Wiener joined DTC in 1989. He has represented DTC on the Securities Clearing Group (SCG) and the Unified Clearing Group (UCG), two US industry-wide clearing organisation associations.
He also serves as a member of the US Delegation to the Hague Conference on Private International Law, where he is negotiating — with 39 other member nations at The Hague — an international treaty relating to the cross-border pledging of securities.
Prior to joining DTC, Wiener practiced law since 1982 at major law firms, including Willkie Farr & Gallagher and Pepper, Hamilton & Scheetz.
