NatWest rolls out video banking service

British bank NatWest has introduced a video banking service that lets customers talk to employees about a host of issues at a time and place that suits them.

Customers can book a video chat with a NatWest staffer based at one of the bank's UK call centres and then complete the call from home, the office or overseas.

NatWest says the video appointments offer the same personal interaction as a branch visit and can be used to discuss anything from savings to loans to mortgages to getting set up with online banking.

Marcelino Castrillo, MD, personal banking, NatWest, says: "This service is about giving customers the kind of face to face expertise they expect from a branch, but at the tip of their fingertips and at a time and place that works for them - whether they’re at home, overseas or at work, and bringing the bank to them.

"We know that customers value the personal interaction from our highly trained staff, and this technology will allow them to reach even more customers to help them reach their financial goals."
