Karan Jain, head of technology Europe and Americas at Westpac, will champion the use of artificial intelligence in banking, but also question the implications of the technology and how to overcome obstacles, by fostering talent or otherwise.

Jain will then join other industry leaders including Maciej Janusz, head of cash management Nordic Region at Citibank and Dan Reid, CTO and founder of Xceptor on a panel session to discuss the application of AI in business and how to transform pilots into products.

Tackling the much-debated issue of the ethics behind AI will be Ekene Uzoma, VP digital product development at State Street and Monica Monaco, founder of TrustEU Affairs who will attempt to quell fears around the subject of humans and machines coexisting in a working environment.

The one day conference, to be held at etc.venues St Paul's, 200 Aldersgate in London, follows on from Finextra’s successful AI-focused event in 2018 and senior banking executives and industry experts will come together to discuss the pertinent issues and financial services case studies.

New speakers confirmed for the event include:

Karan Jain, head of technology Europe and Americas, Westpac

Maciej Janusz, head of cash management Nordic Region, Citibank
