Heidelpay continues on acquisition trail with Alpha-Cash takeover

Germanic payments service provider heidelpay has acquired point-of-sale terminal supplier Alpha-Cash, its sixth acquisition since private equity firm AnaCap bought a controlling stake in the firm in 2017.

The purchase of Rostock and Leipzig-based Alpha-Cash is the latest in a string of acquisitions by heidelpay since AnaCap's initial investment and comes just a month after the firm bought Vienna-based PSP mPAY24 and credit outfit Universum and three months on from the takeover of Hamburg-based point-of-sale provider Startec.

Alpha-Cash is now the third company within the heidelpay Group allowing cashless payments to be transacted at the point of sale. The group acquired Hamburg-based StarTec Payment & Service back in October 2017, followed in May 2018 by the purchase of commercial network outfit Avanti Technology Graf in the Munich region.

Tassilo Arnhold, managing director at AnaCap Financial Partners, comments: “This latest acquisition continues the heidelpay Group’s buy and build strategy and represents the second deal for the company in 2019 alone and the fifth since our original involvement with the platform in 2017. The heidelpay Group continues to develop as a leading online and point of sale payment services provider in the DACH region.”
