Banco Sabadell unit invests in Mexican payments startup

Banco Sabadell's digital business hub InnoCells has made a move into the Mexican market, joining a $6.5 million funding round, led by Ignia and Dalus Capital, for digital payments startup UnDosTres.

UnDosTres lets Mexicans make online payments - via desktop, mobile web and Android and iOS apps − easily, instantly and securely. The services it offers include mobile phone top-ups and bill payments, toll payments and cinema ticket purchases.

Julio Martínez, executive director, InnoCells, says: "UnDosTres resolves a real problem faced by Mexican users, offering a safe solution to increasing digital payment demand to acquire day to day services."

Arpit Gupta, co-founder, UnDosTres, adds: "Our mission is to make everyday payments seamless and easy. We are enabling every Mexican to pay anybody, for anything, at any time, with ease, speed and security, simply at the tap of a button."
