Korea First Bank is using business integration software from California's SeeBeyond to connect internal legacy systems with applications throughout its more than 300 branch offices worldwide.
The revamp of the bank's internal operations was prompted by the acquisition of Newbridge Capital. In a joint initiative with EDS, the bank is deploying SeeBeyond's e*Gate platform to connect new financial terminals with its existing IT infrastructure.
"Unlike other banks that have taken the approach of replacing an entire information infrastructure, Korea First Bank has decided on a best-of-breed strategy," says Jay Hyun, executive vice president and CIO for Korea First Bank. "We selected SeeBeyond to ensure that we maximise our previous IT investments by connecting our legacy environment with our new integrated financial terminals."
The bank is aiming to link its online transaction processing (OLTP) system, data warehouses and CRM applications with the new financial terminals, enabling the organisation to manage its operations through a single point.
