Toronto-Dominion Bank has signed on as a founding corporate member of the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity at the University of New Brunswick.
The agreement will see TD collaborate with the institute on the development of new cyber risk management technologies. The bank's tech teams will work directly with graduate students on areas such as threat assessment methodologies and algorithms.
This is the second major step TD has taken in recent months to boost its defences against the ever-growing cyberthreat, following on from the establishment of a cybersecurity centre in Tel Aviv.
Jeff Henderson, CIO, TD, says: "As the digital landscape evolves, we will continue to invest in technology partnerships and talent so that we can deliver innovative experiences that our customers can trust and rely on.
"The University of New Brunswick is fast becoming an international centre of cybersecurity excellence and we look forward to working with its multidisciplinary teams on real-world problems, while growing our technology talent base."
