Istanbul-based finance house Global Securities has launched Turkey's first speech-enabled call automation system.
The new system allows callers to receive access to the latest stock price information using a call automation system from speech solutions provider InterVoice-Brite. This integrates natural language speech recognition software from Nuance.
Callers dial the main number, respond to various voice prompts using the Turkish language, and tell the system the company name, ticker symbol, or well-known nickname of the desired stock. The system will then retrieve that data, informing the caller of the stock's current price, using precise, understandable language.
The service was developed jointly with Turkish technology firm ITD, which integrated InterVoice-Brite's hardware and software, including the company's SpeechAccess product line, into Global's existing system.
Bob Ritchey, president of iVB Enterprise Solutions, a division of InterVoice-Brite, says: "With this new system, Turkish stock traders can use their phones from virtually any location to check quotes without having to know the ticker symbol or use cumbersome touch-tone interfaces."
The application uses Nuance speech recognition software, supporting 25 languages, including Turkish, and an extensive vocabulary including company names and ticker symbols.
