Communications firm EdgeMatrix and mobile Internet solutions provider Cyber On-Air have teamed up to launch a WAP and SMS-based (short message service) wireless banking service for China's Bank of Communications Shanghai.
The two firms have worked together to build a robust, scalable and highly secure wireless banking solution. This uses EdgeMatrix's Xgate, an advanced multichannel communications server, and Cyber On-Air's mobile commerce applications, Banking On-Air. The solution is based on Linux and runs on an Intel platform.
Bank of Communications Shanghai customers will now be able to access and transact a wide range of services. These include checking balances, accessing account details, foreign exchange transactions and fund transfers using WAP-enabled mobile phones and SMS.
