US insurer First Trenton Indemnity has licensed Mynd ClaimsPro to process automobile personal injury claims. The product has been developed by Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC).
ClaimsPro is a stand-alone solution based on Microsoft technology that interfaces to any company's legacy systems. Implementing ClaimsPro will enable the insurer to merge bill reviews and payment processing into a single system that supports medical repricing, case management and cheque issuance. ClaimsPro will also give First Trenton management a clearer picture of claims activities via its ad hoc querying and reporting capabilities.
Ron Cahan, vice-president of IT, First Trentron, says: "Our goal is to develop a more integrated and cost-effective environment for processing personal injury protection claims. Prior to ClaimsPro, this goal seemed unachievable because the information was established and processed on four separate stand-alone systems."
First Trenton, which is a member of Citygroup, has also extended its current information technology (IT) outsourcing contract to CSC until 2006. It has been a CSC outsourcing client since February 1991. The contract includes all of its back-office and policy administration systems to align with the new ClaimsPro contract.
