Switzerland-based investment decision support vendor Brainpower has appointed Malachy O’Neill and Ron McDermid to set up operations in Ireland and Scotland respectively. The company has also named Christian Lienert as business development manager to be based in Singapore.
O'Neill and McDermid will report directly to Jim Barton, vice-president of Europe while Lienert reports to Mark Wells, chief operating officer, Brainpower.
McDermid joins Brainpower from Bridge Information Systems where he was regional director. He has also held senior positions at the Royal Bank of Scotland, Asesoramiento En Divisas and Midland Montagu. O’Neill comes from Reuters, where he managed Reuters top 50 customers in Ireland.
Lienert previously set up the Singapore operation for Datastream – now part of Primark. During this time, he launched Primark’s first fully browser-based product in Singapore, set up operations in Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta and worked with sales partners in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei.
