Electronic currency option trading platform Volbroker London is to supplement its dedicated trading network with an Internet access option for occasional traders.
For banks that trade occasionally in the currency options marketplace, offering the trading platform over the Internet will provide an additional, more economical channel, says Volbroker.
A revamp of the systems architecture means that it should also be easier to upgrade the platform to meet changing user and market requirements, says the company.
On the functionality side, Volbroker is introducing a range of emerging market currencies. USD to MXN and BRL are now available on the service, with further planned additions including USD to INR/CNY/PHP/CZK/IDR/HDK/THB/ZAR and from EUR to CZK/PLN.
The Volbroker platform was launched in July 2000 with equity partners Citibank, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, JPM Chase, Royal Bank of Scotland and UBS Warburg.
