Nomad names Stevenson as chief executive

London-based electronic payments solutions provider Nomad Software has appointed former Compaq director James Stevenson as chief executive. He brings over 20 years' computer industry experience to the company.

Stevenson joins Nomad from Compaq Computers where he was director of the Business Critical Server Group. He had responsibility for Compaq's high-end Alphaserver and Himalaya Server business in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Stevenson was also a member of the UK company board at Compaq, having started his career at the company as general manager of the systems business unit, UK and Ireland. He has also held various senior marketing and sales management positions at Digital Equipment and Hewlett Packard.
