New instruments supported include credit derivatives, debt issuance, mortgage and asset-backed bonds. A Commercial FX module has also been introduced, dealing specifically with the high margin, corporate area of foreign exchange. The system has also been upgraded to support continuous linked settlement (CLS) in preparation for the changes in multi-lateral netting at the end of this year.

The user interface has been updated with increased security, greater flexibility for information display and improved reporting functionality. Authorised users can now gain full access to the system via a web browser, says the company. Securities Workspace, a homepage toolkit, has also been introduced. Dealers have access to position management, pricing, P&L and analytics on a single presentation layer.

Further improvements include the integration of the Oracle8i Database, allowing true 24x7 operations, robust file management, increased performance monitoring and data protection.

Release 4.0 of the Wall Street System supports three major Unix hardware platforms - Sun Solaris, HP HP-UX and Compaq Alpha servers.
