Diebold says it has finalised a multi-year agreement to market, install and support Sumx' Internet banking solutions. The company says it will offer its banking customers a choice of customised, in-house or data centre options for Internet banking through the SumxNet Internet banking platform.

"This new strategic relationship will allow us to broaden our offerings in the software and professional services arena, and provide customers with a comprehensive Internet banking solution that can be integrated with other delivery channels such as the ATM," says Wesley Vance, president, Diebold North America.

In its final-year results for 2000 Diebold warned of an imminent revenue slow-down as US banks cut back spending on cash machines.
