US bank Charter One Financial has added online small business banking services to the company's Web site.
The new service provides small business owners with real-time balances and account transfers, six months of account history and online statement retrieval. In addition, small business online banking customers can access Charter One's free wireless, bill payment and electronic bill presentment services.
Later this year the bank plans to unveil other enhancements for small business customers, including wire transfers and an enhanced entitlement function for business owners to create user identifications and passwords (with varying levels of access) for employees or bookkeepers.
