The testing, which took place at IBM’s US-based Solution Partnership Centre (SPC), saw BankFrame achieve a linear scalability of 1400 banking processes per second for a sample of 1000 concurrently active users. The vendor says this exceeds the requirements of large banks running a number of service delivery channels through a single data centre.

The test scenario reflected 1000 concurrent active users simulating the operating environment for a bank with a customer base of 10 million. The scalability and performance test was representative of a complete customer life-cycle, taking a sample of the most commonly used banking processes across all service delivery channels including branch, contact centre and Internet.

The performance test was carried out on IBM's e server, pSeries Model 680, using WebSphere Advanced Edition 3.3 and DB2 7.1 with BankFrame host integration services. The RadView Web server load test tool, WebLoad, was used to simulate users.
