Halifax chooses Mercury for Web performance management

UK banking group, Halifax has installed Mercury Interactive's Web performance management solution, Topaz, into its Copley (Halifax) and Pudsey (Leeds) Data Centres.

The automated tool gives users the ability to monitor, identify and diagnose e-business application performance problems. It is the only tool that measures the end-user experience 24x7 and correlates performance issues to their root cause in the Web infrastructure, claims the company.

The bank says it is now able to proactively monitor its site in real-time and alert the operations groups to any potential performance problems before their end-users experience them. Topaz verifies that users receive correct content and measures response times to determine if specific transactions or locations are exceeding performance thresholds.

Stephen Woodhouse, senior infrastructure analyst within capacity and performance services, Halifax plc, comments: "The solution is now recognised throughout the organisation as one of the primary mechanisms for monitoring the availability and performance of the e-commerce and e-business services we offer."
