Euronext issues proforma results

Euronext, the European stock market to be created by the merger of the ParisBourse and the Amsterdam and Brussels exchanges has released proforma financial results for the six months ending at 30 June, 2000.

For the half-year, revenues at the three exchanges totalled EUR366.2 million including EUR45.6 million of exceptional income. Expenses reached EUR204.9 million including EUR8.1 million of exceptional expenses. Operating profit was EUR161.2 million and net profit after tax was EUR116.4 million.

For the entire year 1999, comparable figures showed an income of EUR598.1 million including EUR24.6 million of exceptional income. Expenses reached EUR 428 million including EUR48.2 million of exceptional expenses. Operating profit was EUR121.7 million and net profit EUR96 million.

Accompanying the results statement, Euronext members also announced the composition of the supervisory board. The first nine members are: Jean Peterbroeck (B), Jean Blondeau (F), Andre Dirckx (B), Dominique Hoenn (F), Aad Jakobs (NL), Han Kleiterp (NL), Rene de La Serre (F), Remi Vermeiren (B), Jan Michiel Hessels (NL).

It will headed by Jan Michiel Hessels. There will be three additional members to be selected by the supervisory and managing boards.
