Standard & Poor's Comstock and SwissRisk have begun pilot trials at UBS in Switzerland of an ASP-based system for delivering risk analysis tools to private investors over the Internet.

The combined service, which marries Standard & Poor's ComStock data with Swissrisk's Riskmanager product, will be piloted by banking and brokerage organisations in Switzerland, Germany and Austria, say the vendors, starting with UBS in Switzerland.

Thomas Wolfensberger, Swissrisk's chief executive officer, says: "Whilst market information has been made widely available to private investors over the Internet in recent years, it is only now that private investors are starting to gain access to the type of analysis tools that were previously the sole preserve of institutional investors."
