Reuters has reacted to the growing use of complex structured products by launching an additional module to its Kondor+ risk management system which it hopes will enable users to design, trade and manage the risk of complex products through a single interface
Kondor+Structured Products (KSP) features a proporietary interface for product creation, embedded pricing models supplied by valuations vendor NumeriX, P&L accounting and reporting functionality, integartion capabilities for trading and stress testing capability.
Reuters believes the system, will enable users to design, price and manage the risk of structured products by using a basic interface and avoiding the need for coding.
"Organsations need to be able to capture opportunities presented through the launch of new structured products but they need a system that allows them to do this in a controlled enviornment with the proxcesses in place to manage the risk in real-time," says Andrew White, global head of Reuters Trade and Risk Management.
The system has already gained a customer after it was selected by Korea Exchange Bank for its derivatives trading desk.
