The TraderMapss system is based on NeoVision's HotMaps technology and enables users to spot, assess and take appropriate actions based on real-time financial information and positions, which are captured visually in colorful grids.

"One of the world's largest fund managers, whose portfolio managers and traders buy and sell several millions of dollars in securities on a daily basis, approached us a few months ago for a financial visualisation-based solution so that they could more closely monitor and manage their buying and selling process," says Brian Barefoot, president and CEO of NeoVision. "The firm has now decided to license NeoVision's solution for use by its equity trading floor. We are also packaging Tradermaps for license to other firms."

On a real-time basis, Tradermaps can manage hundreds of buy and sell tickets that have been created by numerous portfolio managers, and distributed to a fleet of traders. Traders, portfolio managers and supervisors use the system to ascertain the status of all open and executed tickets. Additionally, using real-time market pricing, the traders are able to gauge liquidity and trends, so that they can execute at the most opportune moments during the day. Executives and portfolio managers can visually determine if the trader has executed at a price better or worse than the volume weighted average price, which provides a clear indicator of the trader's skill, says Barefoot.

The launch of Tradermaps follows a series of recent announcements from NeoVision, including the completion of a $7 million round of strategic funding, led by Deutsche Bank eVentures, and the appointment of former PaineWebber executive Brian Barefoot, as president and CEO. Recently, NeoVision announced the license of an integrated version of Heatmaps to Bridge Information Systems for installation on several thousand BridgeStation desktops.
