Under the re-org, Suncorp is splitting its insurance business along retail and commercial lines and consolidating its wealth management and retail banking operations.

As part of a wide-ranging executive reshuffle, Diana Eilert, currently group executive, general insurance has been charged with leading an expanded central services portfolio comprising human resources, information technology, marketing and joint ventures.

Announcing the changes, Suncorp CEO, John Mulcahy says the expanded central portfolio of HR, IT and marketing will be the engine room of the company. "The success of Suncorp is inextricably linked to the ability of our central services teams to be centres of excellence in supporting our customer facing businesses."

While acknowledging Kogekar's role in improving the customer focus of the IT team over the past year-and-a-half, he continued: "Diana Eilert is the best person to lead this group. She has a strong background in business consulting and, having run our general insurance business, understands exactly what is required from the centre of the organisation to ensure success."
