Dutch banking group ING has launched SmartWorks, an integrated technology package designed specifically for financial professionals within its independent US broker-dealer network.
ING says its SmartWorks package provides single sign-on for multiple applications and integrates a range of tools including MoneyGuidePro financial planning software, Morningstar investment and analysis tools, contact management and calendar software and client and account filters and search functions.
John Simmers, CEO, of ING Advisors Network, says technology has become so complex that many financial professionals are spending increasing amount of time on systems: "With ING SmartWorks, we bring the tools and data together to make it easier for them to do business and focus on their clients."
ING says it will roll out additional enhancements to the system every four-to-six months including a brokerage alert system, online account opening, and OSJ approvals and compliance reporting.
The platform will be rolled out across ING's independent advisors network, which includes Financial Network Investment Corporation, ING Financial Partners and Multi-Financial Securities Corporation. The system will also be deployed to ING's affiliiated Financial Advisers division over the coming months.
