Spanish bankng group Caixa Catalunya has standardised on BMC Software's Business Service Management (BSM) system to manage its corporate IT infrastructure.
BMC says the technology has enabled Caixa Catalunya to streamline IT processes and improve service delivery to banch offices and ATMs.
Commenting on the BSM system, Luis Marcos, IT director, Caixa Catalunya, says: "It enables us to quickly pinpoint problems and incidents right across the IT infrastructure, define resolution priorities, and proactively monitor systems.
"This means we now have complete control over the processes that impact the business, including our branch network, offices and ATMs."
The BMC system was implemented following the bank's move from a Unisys to an IBM mainframe environment. An initial implementation of BMC Software's Patrol infrastructure and application management system and Mainview mainframe product was followed by the deployment of cdatabase management, batch scheduling management and monitoring management tools.
