NWQ installs Charles River investment management software

NWQ Investment Management Company, a California-based subsidiary of Nuveen Investments, has deployed Charles River Development's Investment Management System (IMS) to support its global equity and fixed income operations.

Charles River says its software has helped NWQ streamline the entire trade-cycle process, from 'what if' analysis and portfolio rebalancing, to electronic order execution and trade settlement connectivity.

NWQ is using the system's standard interfaces to Omgeo's Oasys trade allocation and acceptance service and the FIN accounting system. These interfaces enable electronic transfer of trade information from NWQ's third party applications with Charles River IMS to eliminate errors and reduce processing time. An embedded FIX engine also enables the firm to send and receive FIX-based trade messages.

Kirk Allen, head trader at NWQ, says: "Charles River IMS combines an integrated trading and compliance platform that supports NWQ’s robust growth, especially in institutional relationships, with the flexibility we need."
