HNC Software and Nestor have settled the year-old patent infringement and anti-trust lawsuits relating to the use of neural network technology in their respective card fraud detection software.
The legal battle between the two firms commenced when HNC Software lodged a patent-infringement claim against rival Nestor. ACI subsidiary Nestor hit back, alleging that HNC's patent was invalid and that the company was engaged in ‘anti-competitive, exclusionary, predatory and illegal conduct'.
The terms of the settlement are confidential and all claims against both sides have been dismissed.
