Heavy trading on leap year love index

A UK couple are to tie the knot following a leap year proposal made over the financial bulletin boards of stocks and shares Website ADVFN

Lorna Williams from Bath in Somerset posted her marriage proposal to boyfriend Neil Jackson over the ADVFN bulletin board Sunday.

Lorna's high risk bid for a lifetime investment was rewarded when Neil - encouraged by other ADVFN users who had already read the post - responded in the affirmative.

Lorna comments: "Well it was the 29th of February and a girl only gets one chance in every four years so I thought I better make the most of it. I couldn't think of a better or more novel place for a proposal."

Describing the proposal as a "crazy surprise", Neil joked: "Now all we need is Corus to double over the next week so I can afford a ring."

Clem Chambers, CEO of ADVFN, comments: "We're used to seeing lively trading and investing discussions on the bulletin boards, but love and marriage proposals are new territory even for us."

ADVFN has set up an account for anyone wishing to contribute to the wedding gift fund.
