Eurex US commenced trading on 8 February, competing with the Chicago Board of Trade for volume on futures on 2-, 5- and 10-year treasury notes and on 30-year treasury bonds.

The exchange says 24 European member firms are now connected to Eurex US, bringing the total number of members to over 140.

Rudolf Ferscha, CEO of Eurex, says: "Connecting the European membership to Eurex US brings new opportunities in the trading and clearing of USD denominated products and adds value for both European and US traders and investors.

Following a promising start, trading on Eurex US has slipped to below 6000 contracts per day.
