Franch banking group Natexis Banques Populaires (NBP) has implemented technology from Texas-based Vignette to manage online content for its Internet portals.
The group will use Vignette's Multisite Content Manager software to power an in-house system - called EasyWeb -which enables internal departments and subsidiaries to create and manage new Web sites to deliver commercial and corporate information under the NBP umbrella.
NBP says EasyWeb will simplify the process of creating and updating intranet, Internet and extranet Web sites by providing editorial content and easy-to-use templates that have been designed to be used by staff who have no prior IT knowledge.
Jérôme Kahn, technical director, NBP, says: "One of the key advantages of the Vignette Multisite Content Manager product is that a same piece of content can be reused across different Web sites, enabling us to roll out multiple Web initiatives quickly and efficiently, while keeping costs down."
So far five Web sites have been developed using the Vignette-based system.
Jean-Stéphane Arcis, general manager, France, Vignette, says: "Grouping together various Web initiatives on the same platform is a strong trend among Vignette's clients and the NBP initiative is a great example of this."
