Bank Zachodni live with Card Tech instalments module

Poland's Bank Zachodni has gone live with Card Tech Limited's (CTL) card-based Instalments module, which is running on the vendor's card and merchant management platform, Prime.

The system will enable customers to request instalment loans from the bank after making card purchases, and allow them to combine multiple transactions into one loan.

Bank Zachodni, which is Poland's third largest credit card issuer, says it wanted to give customers an easy way to use consumer credit for large ticket items they would not ordinarily purchase with their cards.

Joanna Pienkowska, credit cards manager, Bank Zachodni, adds: "The instalments offering will increase our transaction volume and value, differentiate us from our competitors and strengthen customer loyalty."

Edith Kessler-Charalambous, global account manager, CTL, says the vendor has been supporting instalments products for a decade in markets as diverse as Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East: "We have seen the instalments concept take root in a number of markets because of the need to fill the inherent gap between debit and revolving credit programmes."
