FNS says the system will enable BNI, which is Indonesia's largest retail bank, to centralise operations and to control and audit all accounts from the bank's headquarters in Jakarta.

Tony Ward, managing director, FNS, says BNI joins a long list of institutions in the region who 'globalised' operations to become more competitive since the Asia currency crisis.

The deployment is being led by an Australian project manager directing a team comprising of staff from BNI and IBM Global Services' Jakarta office, along with contractors from other parts of South East Asia.
