California-based data management vendor Kx Systems has appoined Robert Fourr as chief operating officer (COO) and general counsel and has promoted Andrea Conway to the position of vice president of marketing.
Fourr is a lawyer specialising in information technology. In his new role Fourr will direct the firm's global operations and legal activities.
He has 25 years of legal experience, including positions as assistant US attorney with the Department of Justice and senior counsel for Stanford University. Fourr also has more than ten years experience in licensing, joint ventures, and intellectual property and has served as the company's counsel since 1997.
Conway was previously director of marketing at Kx. Prior to this she was a consultant to HP, Compaq and Ariba, among others, as well as a product marketing manager at Digital Equipment Corporation.
In her new role she will be responsible for worldwide marketing strategy, programmess and communications.
Both Fourr and Conway will report to Kx CEO, Janet Lustgarten.
