Société InterAfricaine de Banque licenses Equinox platform

Togo's Société InterAfricaine de Banque (SIAB) is to roll out UK-based Neptune Software's Equinox banking platform to branches across West Africa.

A localised French version of the Equinox platform will initially be installed at the bank's head office in Lome, before being deployed across branches throughout West Africa.

The system will be used to set up telephone,Internet, ATM and SMS banking channels along with trade finance and treasury products and services.

Khalifa Ettalua, general manager, SIAB, says: "In addition to allowing SIAB to expand our products and services, Equinox will help us to effectively grow our business in an efficient manner through regionalisation and centralisation."

The Equinox system is currently used by 25 banks throughout Africa, although SIAB is Neptune Software's first contract win in the French-speaking countries of West Africa. The deal with SIAB follows the signing of a contract with local firm Mic Inter for distribution of the Equinox system across Togo, the Republic of Benin and Burkina Faso.

Neptune Software says it also intends to establish a combination of local offices and partnerships in the region to ensure efficient implementation and post-sales support for its products.
