SunGard appoints Marianne Brown as COO of financial systems

Marianne Brown, president and CEO of post-trade processing house Omgeo, has been appointed as chief operating officer of SunGard's financial systems business.

Marianne Brown quit DTCC-owned Omgeo earlier this month to "pursue other business opportunities". She steps down from the role in February, when she will be replaced by Paula Sausville Arthus.

She brings to SunGard more than three decades of experience in the financial services and technology industries. Before joining Omgeo in 2006, she was the CEO of the Securities Industry Automation Corporation (SIAC), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nyse Euronext Group, where she was responsible for the delivery of all trading and regulatory services for the New York Stock Exchange as well as production support for the American Stock Exchange.

She joined SIAC following a 26-year career at ADP, culminating in her role as general manager of ADP's Brokerage Processing Services business, which was subsequently spun off to become Broadridge Financial Solutions.

Russ Fradin, SunGard's president and chief executive officer, says: "I have every confidence that Marianne will add tremendous value in helping us drive the growth and performance of our financial systems business."
