Capital One opens up APIs

03 October 2012  |  8402 views  |  0 Dollar note jigsaw

Capital One has become the latest financial institution to open up its APIs to developers, inviting outsiders to help deliver deals and rewards to customers.

Working with API management start-up Mashery, Capital One is asking developers to get in touch if they want to access keys and documentation for APIs covering deals, rewards and identification.

According to programmableweb, Paul Sun, head of the Capital One Labs West Coast office, told a conference recently that more APIs could soon be opened up and "the obvious one is payments".

At its Capital One Labs portal, the firm says: "With our API platform, we look forward to harnessing the massive amount of innovation happening across the web, allowing the most cutting edge of products to deliver customised experiences to our 60 million customers."
