Platform Computing has developed an adapter for Grid-enabling Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. The application alows traders to draw power from idle computers and speed up the processing of complex calculations.
The Adapter for Microsoft Excel is being released as a standard feature of Platform's Symphony Suite of software.
The application distributes Excel calculations for front office trading activities through Platform Symphony to any number of internal compute clusters. It can be deployed by individual users or at a group level for distribution of results to multiple trading desks.
