Hacktivist claims to dump Visa and MasterCard customer info

A self-described 'hacktivist' has leaked what he claims is the personal information, including names and addresses, of Visa and MasterCard customers.

Reckz0r took to Twitter yesterday to boast that he had 'pwned' the two card giants and intended to leak their data.

Today he used text sharing site Pastebin to provide a download link which has names, addresses, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses for what he claims are hundreds of Visa and MasterCard customers from around the world.

Reckz0r says that he has only leaked a small portion of his 50GB haul and is "censoring the credit card information such as CC Number, Secret Code, Expiry date for security measures".

Despite expressing his support for Anonymous on his personal Web site and directing some of his Visa-MasterCard tweets to Anonymous-related accounts, Reckz0 says he works alone and has dumped the data for the "Curiosity & Challenge".

At pixel time, neither Visa nor MasterCard had responded to requests for comment.

Update: Visa has told Finextra that it's systems have not been hacked and overnight Reckz0r has used his Twitter account to admit that he has not breached either card firm but now insists that he has stolen data from 79 banks.
