Infosys, a global leader in consulting, technology, outsourcing and next-generation services, has become a member of Innovate Finance, an industry association for the global FinTech sector in the UK.
Housed at Level 39, Europe’s largest accelerator space, Innovate Finance dedicatedly champions the UK as a global centre of financial services and technology innovation. Infosys will use this partnership to foster relationships with the start-up community and share its expertise, acquired by working with global financial institutions, to help smaller companies scale up their technology. Infosys will also support Innovate Finance as it drives forward the FinTech sector, by contributing to the important educational and policy initiatives run by the group.
This move follows the announcement, made earlier this year, of The Infosys Innovation Fund, a US$500 mn global fund towards strategic, early-stage investments in start-ups from around the world. The focus will be on start-ups which are innovating in next-generation solutions and technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), automation, machine learning, pervasive connectedness as well as collaboration and design technologies. Start-ups building products and services in any of these areas will have the opportunity to leverage the fund and collaborate with Infosys to achieve scale, accelerate growth and gain access to large enterprise customers, technology experts, and a global ecosystem of partners.
Lawrence Wintermeyer, Chief Executive Officer, Innovate Finance, said, “We are thrilled that Infosys has joined our membership association. It shows a commitment to be at the forefront of an exciting evolution that is shaping the future of financial services. Infosys will have access to the world’s largest community of financial services technology innovators and industry influencers as well as an opportunity to create strong relationships that could benefit from its funding and support during their growth journeys.”
Mohit Joshi, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Financial Services, Infosys, said, “Supporting the vibrant FinTech ecosystem in London provides us with the opportunity to engage with some of the most innovative companies and people developing disruptive technologies for financial institutions. We will use our global reach and client relationships to help these entrepreneurial companies scale up their technology while at the same time help financial services companies tap into the innovation hub in London.”
