Ingenico integrates Seamless SEQR into payments platform

Ingenico Payment Services announces the launch of a new partnership with Seamless, a Swedish prepaid systems provider, to integrate Seamless's SEQR app into Ingenico Payment Services' online payment platform.

The partnership will enable Colruyt Group – a leading Belgian food distribution group and a client of Ingenico Payment Services (formerly Ogone) since 2008 – to offer its customers an alternative online payment method using smartphones.

Beginning in September, shoppers at Collishop, Dreamland and Dreambaby – three of the Colruyt Group's e-commerce sites – are able to pay for online purchases using their smartphones no matter which banks they use. This new mobile payment method will become available in the Group's physical stores in 2015.

This new payment method offers consumers improved online shopping speed and convenience. To pay for a purchase the consumer simply scans the QR code on the computer or tablet screen and confirms the amount with a PIN code. The consumer then receives an electronic receipt via the same app.

We are very pleased to integrate SEQR's innovative new technology into our platform, which already offers more than 150 payment methods," said Xavier Thiran, Head of Business Development at Ingenico Payment Services. "With this app we continue to enrich our agnostic offer and strengthen our positioning as a payment facilitator, enabling merchants like Colruyt Group to deliver a smooth, rapid purchasing experience to their customers."
