BPC Banking Technologies, the leading provider of Open System payment solutions for financial industry, today announces another project which demonstrates SmartVista's unmatched capabilities to support business growth.

In this case when Saigon Hanoi Bank (SHB) acquired HabuBank it more than doubled the size of the banks payment operations. The challenges created by the project were easily addressed by SmartVista's combination of comprehensive functionality, innovative design and absolute reliability.

The project was part of the wider restructuring of the banking system mandated by the Government and the State Bank of Vietnam. Following the project's successful completion, the bank now operates a network of 250 branches, 250 ATMs and over 500 POS-terminals. The migration of HabuBank's payment channels and cards to SmartVista was completed in only three months entirely by SHB staff. The Bank has subsequently launched a number of new initiatives powered by SmartVista, including more POS services as part of SHB's merchant program.

"The way that SmartVista made a complex integration project simple, rapid and error-free further validates our decision to choose BPC as our partner in payments. Following our selection of SmartVista in 2010 we have seen countless benefits and we have launched a range of new products and services for our customers. With BPC and SmartVista we are confident that we can capitalise on the opportunities being created as the payments landscape changes in Vietnam," said Ms Dang Thi Phuong Ba, CIO, Saigon Hanoi Bank, Vietnam.

"Not only does this project show how well SmartVista supports rapid business growth with flexible configuration of functionality but by successfully delivering the project without needing BPC expertise SHB demonstrated the effectiveness of our knowledge transfer processes and training programs. SHB is an award winning bank, focused on delivering outstanding services to its customers and we are certain that SmartVista will help the Bank continue its mission," added Rajan S. Narayan, Managing Director, BPC Asia-Pacific.
