Cashfac Technologies, a global leader in Cash Management solutions, today announced that it has opened a new office in Singapore and appointed Mike Walsh as Managing Director, Asia Pacific.

Based in Singapore, Mike will be responsible for overseeing the company’s Sales, Business Development and Customer Services strategy in Asia Pacific.

The growing importance of Asia in the world economy has seen concerted efforts from banks and corporate institutions to step up their cash management and payments infrastructures. This move is driving demand for Cashfac’s technology solutions in Asia. The opening of a new regional hub office in Singapore and the appointment of Mike will enable Cashfac to support a growing and diversified customer base in the region.

Commenting on the appointment, Alastair McGill, Global Managing Director, Cashfac, said: “The regional markets across Asia Pacific represent a fantastic opportunity for Cashfac – as APAC domestic firms respond to regulation and continue to expand their operations the efficient management of cash is a priority. We excel at helping Corporates and Financial Institutions simplify and automate their complex, multi-jurisdictional cash management operations. In addition to the local market pull we’re supporting our existing clients from Europe and Australia as they expand operations across the Asia Pacific region.”

The opening of the new Singapore office as a regional hub has been timed to support the company’s launch of a new suite of Cloud based applications and Managed Service operations. Cashfac’s solutions are available directly from Cashfac as well as through Cashfac’s Bank Partner network including one of the largest banking groups in Australia.

Mike Walsh, Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Cashfac, added: “Cashfac’s smart technology, highly skilled team and proven capabilities have created a solid foundation on which to further grow the business. We’re engaging with Banks across the region who are seeking to place our technology at the heart of their Corporate Cash Management Services as well as working with leading corporates across multiple industry verticals. I’m excited to be part of the Cashfac team and look forward to working with our Asian banking partners and clients across the region.”

With over 19 years based in Australia and Singapore Mike has extensive international experience in financial and technology markets, particularly in Asia Pacific. Prior to joining Cashfac Mike was the Business Development Manager for South East Asia at Calypso Technology where he built a successful track record of Enterprise solution sales and profitable relationships with major customers and partners, at all levels. Previously he was Regional Director at SmartStream Technologies where he was responsible for driving revenue growth and motivating culturally diverse teams to deliver the highest standards and results. He also spent over 20 years at Thomson Reuters in a number of leadership roles based in London, South Africa and Asia.
