NCR extends relationship with BIO-key for biometrics at the POS

BIO-key International, Inc. (otcqb:BKYI), a leader in fingerprint biometric identification technologies, cloud- and device-based mobile credentialing and identity verification solutions, today reported that NCR Corporation has expanded its use of integrated BIO-key fingerprint authentication solutions.

NCR will expand deployment through several national retail chains, including Wendy's and Arby's, providing for secure and efficient employee access to tens of thousands of POS terminals.

BIO-key eliminates the cost to issue, manage and recover tokens and access cards from a high turnover retail workforce and reduces plastic waste in the environment. NCR is one of the leading providers of retail operations automation technology. The recent purchase, valued at several hundred thousand dollars, validates the impact BIO-key is having at the store level and is part of a series of orders placed during a long and productive relationship. As an OEM of BIO-key software, NCR had previously distributed and deployed over 53,000 BIO-key enabled POS terminals.
