kSmith announced today that Chi-X Canada ATS Limited has selected its Big Data Platform to manage and distribute Chi-X Canada and CX2 historical market data through its web portal.

TickSmith operates a web portal where users can source and access comprehensive historical trade and quote data for Chi-X Canada and CX2, as well as analytical reports and data produced by TickSmith, formatted for use in display and analytical applications. The web portal is based on TickVault, a financial Big Data distribution platform that stores, manages, and delivers financial trading data such as trade and quote history.

"Over the past five years, Chi-X Canada has become a vital component of Canada's equity markets. Today we are the largest ATS in Canada which naturally places more value and creates more demand for our historical market data," said Dan Kessous, CEO of Chi-X Canada.

"Requests for historical market data have increased as our market share has grown. TickSmith's platform will offer clients access to our historical trading data as well as a powerful set of reports and analytics."

"TickSmith's TickVault platform provides a turnkey data distribution solution for marketplaces like Chi-X Canada," said Francis Wenzel, CEO of TickSmith. "It has proven itself by managing petabytes of data and will easily scale to accommodate Chi-X Canada's continued growth."

TickVault is provided as a complete platform, as a service, or managed and installed at client sites. It is ideal for exchanges, trading networks, data vendors and regulators who need to manage and extract value from large amounts of financial data.
