A tailored combination of network performance assurance platforms, elements and modules are now integrated into TMX Atrium's network, providing a global QoS monitoring system to assure ultra-low latency connections for financial services connectivity.
TMX Atrium delivers unsurpassed Managed IT and Networking Services in over 12 countries from 30 POPs (Points of Presence) across North America, Europe and Asia. Covering a wide range of market segments and all asset classes, TMX Atrium is focused upon low latency venue-neutral infrastructure for financial services.

TMX Atrium had previously used the integrated IP & SLA monitoring features of their routers to validate performance. As their service offering expanded and customers increasingly demanded more accurate SLA QoS reporting, Des' team found that even their pricey core routers were not able to provide a true picture of service performance.
Benefiting from the flexibility of Accedian's network performance elements, modules and the Vision Collect platform, TMX Atrium now has the sub-ms latency reporting with sub-second sampling that meet the expectations of their customers. This level of accuracy and granularity is as important on a global scale as it is between local trading hubs, some of which, like two POPs in Toronto, Canada, are only several hundred meters apart. The solution also measures microbursts, delay variation and packet loss in order to instantly detect any detrimental network conditions.
TMX Atrium worked carefully with Accedian's professional services team to architect a solution that would provide granular and precise QoS visibility between all critical customer and core sites. An open solution, Accedian's Network State+ real-time KPI database was integrated into OpenNMS and other existing management systems to bring a new level of monitoring metrics into existing tools. TMX Atrium's Global Financial Services Network; an Accedian solution is being deployed to bring real-time performance visibility between all sites.
