Erste Group Card Processor counts on Paragon for SmartVista migration

Erste Group Card Processor (EGCP), the internal card processing arm of Erste Group, one of the largest financial services providers in the eastern part of the European Union, recently licensed FASTest, the popular function/regression testing solution from Paragon Application Systems, to speed and simplify their migration from their legacy switch to BPC's SmartVista.

EGCP required a solution that would simulate and test all of the endpoints of their transaction processing for complete function and regression testing during the migration process. Paragon provided FASTest for the following financial message formats: Visa, MasterCard, SPDH, HISO 87, HISO 93, ATM and BIC ISO. To increase productivity, EGCP schedules tests to run unattended and receives a report with the results. Using the "Compare" feature in FASTest, EGCP can run tests and compare recent test results to previous test results to confirm the reliability of their system.

"We did an extensive internal analysis of available solutions on the market and compared the offers with our needs," says Božidar Pavlovic, CTO of EGCP. "Based on the findings we concluded that Paragon FASTest software would be the best fit."

Currently EGCP is using Paragon FASTest software for SmartVista function and regression testing and they plan on using FASTest to test regular system upgrades and mandates. Paragon provides regular software updates for mandates from MasterCard, Visa and other networks within one month of the network announcing functionality changes.

"Using Paragon FASTest, we can identify performance weak spots which helps us optimize our system," says Božidar Pavlovic, CTO of EGCP. "The Paragon team support is timely and proactive, and the cooperation is excellent. We look forward to working with Paragon in the future."

"Our team worked closely with EGCP to ensure that their Paragon testing solutions were of maximum benefit in their migration from legacy switch technology to BPC's SmartVista," says Doug Daggett, EMEA Sales Director for Paragon. "We continue to provide quality support to EGCP to ensure their Paragon testing solutions are helping them meet their business objectives."
