Agilent Technologies Inc. and FIME, an advanced secure-chip testing provider, have announced an agreement to work together to deliver pioneering testing solutions to the payments and telecommunications markets.

The advancement of innovative tools to test and certify secure-chip mobile payment technology will be a key priority for the two organisations. This work will capitalise on the combined knowledge of FIME's established expertise in the payments sector together with Agilent's strong heritage in the telecommunications industry.

Pascal Le Ray, general manager of FIME, said, "Over the past 12 months we have continued to open new test centres around the world to be closer to our stakeholders, better understand their needs and respond quickly to their requirements. We look forward to enhancing our product offering with Agilent as part of our ongoing expansion and to meet the evolving demands of the industry."

"The next generation of smartphones is bringing mobile payment and mobile communications together and into the mainstream," said Joe DePond, vice president and general manager, Agilent's Mobile Broadband Operation. "Working together with FIME, we will provide test solutions to help customers deliver new products that will delight consumers around the world."
