CloudZync, the British mobile wallet company, has today launched an Android version of Zwallet, its complete mobile wallet app for consumers.

Brits with Zwallet can use the app to pay for items at participating retailers, digitally manage all of their loyalty cards, access exclusive offers, buy and redeem digital gift cards and much more - all from a single easy-to-use smartphone dashboard.

The launch of an Android app means that Zwallet is now available on all major smartphone platforms; the app is free to download from Google Play, the Apple App Store and the Windows Phone Store, and shoppers can set up an account in minutes.

A study of 2,000 British adults commissioned by CloudZync found that the average UK consumer now has access to an average of 8 loyalty schemes via their smartphone1. The research also found that almost a third of Android users (32%) already access at least one loyalty scheme from their mobile phone. Almost one in ten users of the Google-built platform also said that they would be more likely to go into a new shop if they received a discount or offer to their phone (8%), and would be more likely to sign up to loyalty schemes if they could keep them all in the same place (8%).

Andrew Smith, Co-Founder and CTO of CloudZync, said: "The mobile payments industry has grown dramatically in the last couple of years, but many of these 'new' ways to pay have yet to truly take advantage of the mobile phone that most people now have in their pocket - with most just offering another way to pay by card. Smartphones have the potential to finally enable consumers to slim down their wallets, if not leave them at home altogether. By launching on Android we can now offer one of the largest communities of smartphone users in the UK access to a new way to pay while and all of their favourite loyalty schemes, voucher schemes and much more - all from a single display."

In January, CloudZync added mobile eGift cards and vouchers to its Zwallet apps, allowing shoppers to buy and redeem digital gift cards, as well as access the latest local deals from their favourite high street retailers, such as Ask, B&Q, Burton, The Body Shop, and Zizzi.
