Collis Brand Test Tool gets MasterCard qualification

UL is pleased to announce that the Collis Brand Test Tool is the first test tool to successfully pass qualification by MasterCard for the simulation of Confidence Test Cards.

Up to now the MasterCard interoperability tests were executed with a set of physical cards that acquirers had to have, the so-called MasterCard Interoperability Subset (Confidence) Cards. As physical cards can disappear or get broken, UL is now the first test tool provider to simulate the Confidence Test Cards in its Collis Brand Test Tool.

The Collis Brand Test Tool is listed by MasterCard as an M/Chip Qualified Test Tool. In addition to that, the Collis Brand Test Tool is known for being fully aligned with the test specifications of the seven major worldwide payment schemes. It also provides full insight in the message details of the communication between the card and the terminal on the one side and between the terminal and the network on the other side. This allows a tester to gain detailed insight in the behavior of the system from end-to-end.

"UL continues to provide high quality test tools for the payment market. We are confident that our customers will benefit from this qualification as it will help them reduce the time to market, ease their M-TIP testing, and increase their confidence during the MasterCard implementation," adds Maxim Dyachenko, Manager Service Line Test Tools at UL Transaction Security.
