Diebold secures deal with LGE Community Credit Union

Diebold, Incorporated (DBD) and Cash Transactions LLC (CashTrans), a Diebold certified dealer, are helping LGE Community Credit Union transform its branches into efficient environments that combine self-service and personal interactions.

The Georgia credit union's new Roswell-based branch, scheduled to open later this year, will feature four banking stations equipped with customized Opteva automated teller machines (ATMs) and a collaboration area where LGE representatives can interact with members. In total, Diebold and CashTrans will replace LGE's entire self-service fleet with 15 Opteva ATMs, including 13 deposit automation-enabled terminals and two cash dispensers.

Marietta, Ga.-based LGE serves more than 100,000 members throughout northwest Georgia via seven full-service branches. The credit union has been transforming its branch model over the last few years, working with CashTrans to install Diebold RemoteTeller™ Systems at several branches. The RemoteTeller System replaced traditional branch teller counters with stations that integrate pneumatics and two-way video. A single teller attends multiple customer pneumatic tube stations, delivering direct service to members while reducing LGE's staffing needs.

"Adopting more technology-oriented and automated branch models has enabled LGE to reduce operational expenses, while enhancing the experience for our members," said Chris A. Leggett, President/CEO, LGE. "From RemoteTeller Systems to collaborative ATM stations, we're providing convenient, efficient banking and more personal service."

LGE's deposit automation-enabled ATMs allow members to complete teller-like, envelope-free cash and check deposits. At the new Roswell branch, members will be able to manage transactions on their own or request assistance from in-branch representatives. Should members have additional banking needs, they can interact directly with LGE representatives in the open branch environment.

"LGE is evolving to a modern banking model that appeals to financial institutions looking to connect with consumers in more personalized ways," said Mychal D. Kempt, vice president, North America operations, Diebold. "This type of branch transformation is gaining momentum at the national, regional and community financial institution levels, as more institutions choose to integrate self-service and sales-oriented environments."

CashTrans is an exclusive Diebold certified dealer serving accounts in Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
